When visiting Disneyland guests can expect a day full of magic and memories! Disneyland is a small park but it’s packed full of attractions and rides to enjoy. With so many rides to experience at Disneyland, filling your day up with fun will be easy. Some rides are even original to the park and opened in 1955! The rides at Disneyland vary in popularity, with some attractions having wait times that far exceed others. Guests can choose whether or not certain attractions are worth waiting for based on their preferences, but here are some popular attractions that we think are definitely worth the wait at Disneyland!
Haunted Mansion
This attraction typically has a longer wait but for a good reason! Haunted Mansion is a classic Disney attraction that features some of the best Imagineering and storytelling that you can expect to find during Disney attractions. This stately mansion looks unassuming from the outside, but once you enter inside you are surrounded by the 999 “happy haunts” that call it their home. Guests board a “doom buggy” after an eerie encounter in the stretching room and begin their spooky tour. This attraction is suitable for guests of all ages and moves slowly, but some smaller guests might still find it a bit spooky!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
While Haunted Mansion showcases classic Disney Imagineering, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance shows just how far Disney Imagineering has come. This attraction has gained extreme popularity since it opened in 2020. This attraction is worth the wait because it begins as soon as you step foot into the queue. Rise of the Resistance is immersive from start to finish with life-sized props and realistic audio-animatronics. This attraction is a unique combination of a dark ride and a thrill ride, and is for guests 40 inches or taller.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Disneyland’s newest attraction is also one of its most popular. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure took the place of Splash Mountain and features a splashing good time with Tiana and other characters from Disney’s Princess and the Frog movie. Guests join Tiana as she splashes through the bayou searching for a critter band to play at her restaurant’s celebration. Guests can enjoy original songs as they splash and sing through this thrilling attraction for guests 40 inches or taller.
Space Mountain
This classic Disney roller coaster is for guests who are 40 inches or taller and provides a thrilling and fast-paced adventure through space. Utilizing darkness as well as sound and lighting effects, Space Mountain zips through tight turns and features sudden drops. You never quite know what will be coming next as you hurl through moments of total darkness. This attraction has been thrilling guests since it opened in 1977 and reaches a top speed of 35 miles per hour, making it the perfect family thrill ride.
