Otter Slides Fully Installed at The Wetlands
The headline from this update is at The Wetlands pool area, where both giant otter slides are now fully installed. The two themed sculptures, named Addy and Bonnie, appear complete along with their slides, marking a clear step forward from the previous aerial update.
Around them, crews have added more decking near the pool, the lazy river, and the water play area. That kind of progress signals the pool complex is starting to move from major structural work toward the finishing stages.
Crane Sculptures and a Spiral Slide on the Way
On the other side of The Wetlands, crane sculptures are now in place, leaning over the lazy river. One of the cranes sits at the end of a bridge that crosses the water, adding to the themed detail taking shape in this part of the resort.
There is more still to come. Pieces of a spiral waterslide are staged in the pool, ready for installation. Once that slide goes up, The Wetlands will be closer to matching the vision shown in the resort’s concept art.
Lakeshore Lagoon Takes Shape
The zero-entry feature pool in The Wetlands carries the name Lakeshore Lagoon. Real palm trees have already been planted around the area, which helps set the tone for the finished look.
Some of the signature theming is not in place yet. The larger-than-life cattails planned for the space have not been installed, so there is still work ahead before the area reaches its final form.
Steady Progress at Cypress Point
The quieter Cypress Point pool saw more modest movement in this update. Aside from a bit more decking, there are no major visible changes at this second pool area.
That is not unusual for a resort of this size. With so much attention on The Wetlands, the calmer pool is progressing at its own pace.
Roof Work Advances on Moonglade
Roofing continues across the resort, and it is most noticeable on Moonglade, the lakefront restaurant. Crews have covered the plywood paneling and steel frames of the overhangs with sheathing.
One overhang on the side of the restaurant facing the resort has yet to be covered, so there is a bit more to finish here. Moonglade is one of three restaurants announced for the resort, and its progress is worth watching as the opening approaches.
Opening Date and Booking Window
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open on July 1, 2027. For Disney Vacation Club members and others planning ahead, bookings are set to open this October.
With the pool theming advancing, the buildings closing in, and the restaurants taking shape, the timeline appears to be tracking toward that summer 2027 target.
