What To Expect On New Year’s Eve In Disney World 2021

Cinderella's Castle - Before Fireworks

New Year’s Eve is coming up quick and one of the best ways to spend this holiday is in Walt Disney World. If you were lucky enough to book a park reservation for this year you may be wondering what to expect on New Year’s Eve in Disney World in 2021. The festivities in 2020 were canceled, so Disney is planning on going all out this year to make it up.

On December 31st three of Walt Disney World’s theme parks will be staying open late to celebrate. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is closing at 7:00 PM to keep the animals relaxed and allow them to sleep during their normal times. Both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT will be open until the new year strikes at midnight (12:00 AM). Magic Kingdom will remain open the latest, with a closing time of 1:00 AM.

For those guests who do not have park reservations, there will still be plenty of Disney magic available on New Year’s Eve in Disney Springs, which will remain open until 11:30 PM.

The entertainment in the parks will be the highlight of the experience this year. Although Hollywood Studios will not be offering a firework show this year, both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will be making up for that by featuring two firework shows. Here are the times for each of the nighttime shows.

Magic Kingdom

  • Disney Enchantment – 6:30 PM
  • Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks – 11:50 PM

EPCOT

  • Harmonious – 6:30 PM
  • New Year’s Countdown Fireworks – 11:54 PM

It is a rare occurrence that guests are able to see two nighttime spectaculars without purchasing a ticket to an after hours event, so this is going to be a major night to remember.

Are you going to be in one of the Disney parks this year for New Year’s Eve 2021? What are you expecting to be the best part? Let us know in the comments below!
