Disneyland fans have expressed their excitement regarding the refurbishments coming to Mickey’s ToonTown, but it looks like those excited fans will have to wait just a little longer. In this article, we will be covering the news of ToonTown’s delay, but also exploring some of the new details regarding what to expect when this renovated land does reopen to the public!
New Opening Date
Disney just announced that the much-anticipated reopening of Mickey’s Toontown has been delayed until March 19th, 2023.
Due to heavy winter storms that impacted our construction momentum we are adjusting the reopening date of Mickey’s Toontown to March 19. We can’t wait for our guests to visit and experience the reimagined land.
DisneylandThe area’s reopening was previously scheduled for March, 8th 2023, so these setbacks should only cause about 11 days of delay. The renovation of this beloved land in the Disneyland Park includes plans for new attractions, character experiences and restaurants.
New Additions Coming To Mickey’s Toontown
While, unfortunately, we will have to wait a little while longer, the wait should be more than worth it! Let’s take a look at what to expect when Mickey’s ToonTown does make it’s triumphant return.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
The recent opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction brings the popular dark-ride attraction to the West Coast. Disney’s Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is an exciting new track-less attraction that takes guests on a wild ride into the cartoon world of Mickey Mouse. The high-tech 3D ride features an original story and songs that start with a zany pre-show that truly breaks the fourth wall, then continues through several imaginative scenes that take them down, up, over and around some unexpectedly wacky scenarios. Guests can expect to laugh as they join iconic characters like Goofy and Daisy Duck for thrilling twists and turns throughout this unique adventure, which culminates in a finale at the end of the track!
CenTOONial Park
CenTOONial Park will be a whimsical open play area located inside Disneyland’s new ToonTown. This fun-filled area features open, grassy play areas that give your little ones the chance to stretch those legs and let out some energy. All while being surrounded by some of Disney’s most beloved characters, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. This new area will feature a fountain with water tables for little ones to play in, and a “dreaming tree” that will have various root structures for kids to crawl through and around.
Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard
Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard will be another outdoor play area that will feature a sound garden and an elevated clubhouse that will keep little ones engaged while expending their seemingly never-ending energy.
Updated Donald’s Boat
Come to Donald’s Duck Pond and enter a world of watery fun! Donald’s boat has crashed into the duck pond, creating an area full of giant spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys. Guests are invited to look inside the flooded boat and interact with Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby. With plenty of activities for all ages, Donald’s Duck Pond is sure to provide endless entertainment for the whole family!
Goofy’s House
Step inside Goofy’s house and you’ll find a unique and interactive candy-making machine. It starts high outside with honey dripping from a beehive above, sending colorful drops along a chute to the entrance of the home. Young guests are then invited to join Goofy in his kitchen and help make all kinds of candy! With bright colors, sweet smells and lots of fun, this is sure to be a treat for all!
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster
Take a ride with Chip and Dale on the all-new Gadget Coaster! Inspired by the lovable character of Gadget Hackwrench, this one-of-a-kind coaster has been designed with both fun and safety in mind. Café Daisy
