Mickey’s PhilharMagic is going to debut a new “Coco“ musical number beginning on July 17! The show will be making its premier first in Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris, but will be added to Mickey’s Philharmonic in Magic Kingdom later this year. Walt Disney World’s version will be introduced as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, so it will be added sometime after October 1.
The new musical number will be called “Un Poco Loco” and will include a new scene amongst the others that are already a part of this classic Disney attraction. Disney assures guests that none of the other scenes will change, and that this newest scene is simply an addition.
Guests can expect to see the hilarious Donald Duck during the “Coco” scenes and their characters. This is quite groundbreaking, since this will be the first time that both Disney and Pixar have shared the screen together. This new addition to Mickey’s PhilharMagic will involve collaboration between both Disney and Pixar animators.
Part of Coco’s original team will be involved in the production as well. Germaine Franco, one of the original composers, has been brought onto the project to create a unique original “Coco” score for Mickey’s PhilharMagic.
