What Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event held at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. The party offers guests the chance to dress up in costumes and enjoy trick-or-treating, spooky fun attractions with a Halloween twist, dance parties, and spectacular fireworks shows and parades. Throughout the park are different photo-ops where guests can take family photos with their favorite Disney characters dressed in Halloween costumes and get special treats from your favorite Disney villains.

Each night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off at the hour of 7:00 PM and runs until midnight – don’t miss out on all the fun!

Ticket holders will be granted special early access to Magic Kingdom Park, as soon as 4:00 PM on their ticket’s valid date. Make the most of your day by taking advantage of this opportunity – explore all the park has to offer and get ready for a night full of excitement!

Starting April 27th, guest staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels or Shades of Green will be able to purchase tickets. Then come May 2nd, everyone else can join in on the fun!

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade

Location: Starts in Frontierland and ends on Main Street
Typical Showtimes: 9:15 pm and 11:15 pm

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade will be back this year with some new surprises. The parade features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and all your favorite Disney Characters in their Halloween costumes. Be sure to keep an eye out for special guests!

Location: Cinderella’s Castle
Typical Showtimes: 8:35 pm and 10:45, with an additional 7:40 pm performance in October

The “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” show will also be returning, with the Sanderson Sisters casting their wicked spell on the Magic Kingdom.

One of the best parts of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the live entertainment. This year, be sure to check out Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet, who will be performing some spooky tunes throughout the park.

Costume Guidelines

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the only events where guests over the age of 14 years old are allowed to wear costumes in the Walt Disney World theme parks. Check out the full costume guidelines below:

Ages 0-13

  • Costumes and some costume masks may be worn; masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen.

Ages 14+ (Including Adults)

  • All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
  • Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
  • Costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
  • Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
  • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (for example, full-length Princess dresses)
  • Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
  • Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and hats are acceptable.
  • Acceptable accessories include transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords, and tutus. Costume headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
  • Costume masks of any kind may not be worn.
