In the wake of Hurricane Hilary, both Disneyland Resort theme parks are slated for early closure. The hurricane is anticipated to hit Southern California imminently.
Early Closing Times For Disneyland Resort – August 21st, 2023
Disneyland Park will be closing its doors at 10:00 p.m., ahead of its usual midnight shutdown. Disney California Adventure will shut down an hour earlier than its typical 10:00 p.m. closure, at 9:00 p.m. Downtown Disney District will also be closing early, at 11:00 p.m. instead of 1:00 a.m.
We are closely monitoring Hurricane Hilary and making adjustments based on the latest information from the National Weather Service. Disneyland Resort theme parks will close early tomorrow, Sunday Aug. 20, with Disney California Adventure Park closing at 9 p.m. and Disneyland Park closing at 10 p.m. The Downtown Disney District will close at 11 p.m.
Our resort hotels will remain open to serve our guests staying with us on property.

Disneyland ResortHurricane Hilary was recently downgraded from a Category 4 storm, boasting maximum wind speeds of 145 mph, to a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 mph. The storm is projected to hit land either late Saturday night or in the early hours of Sunday morning, likely as a tropical storm. Potential significant flooding and power outages are predicted to last through Monday.
This event marks a rare occurrence for Southern California, which has not experienced a landfall from a tropical storm since September 25, 1939. Moreover, no hurricane has ever made landfall in the state of California throughout recorded history.
