During this past weekend’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, Disney fans all over the world were treated with tons of news. One of the most exciting announcements was that ‘Disney Enchantment’ will be coming to an end and the beloved Happily Ever After will be returning To Walt Disney World next year!
‘Disney Enchantment’ made its debut in Magic Kingdom Park on October 1, 2021 in celebration of the park’s 50th anniversary celebration. When the 50th anniversary celebrations conclude on March 31, 2023, ‘Disney Enchantment’ will be no more.
Whether the ‘Happily Ever After’ firework show will be exactly as it was before is slightly unclear based on the statement given by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro at D23 Expo. His exact quote was:
the popular anthem ‘Happily Ever After’ will play again when an updated nighttime spectacular returns to light up the skies over Cinderella Castle.
Josh D'Amaro, Disney Parks ChairmanSo that could mean the show is returning as it was prior to the 50th anniversary celebrations, or that they are bringing back the song alongside a new firework show for guests to see in Magic Kingdom. Either way we are sure it will be fantastic.
The decision to remove ‘Disney Enchantment’ is not a huge surprise, given that guests have not given it the best reviews compared to ‘Happily Ever After’. We enjoyed both nighttime spectaculars, but are certainly excited for ‘Happily Ever After’ to return to Walt Disney World in 2023.
