The 2015 animated coming-of-age film “Inside Out” is one of my favorite Pixar films. It is a film centered on 11-year-old Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) and the five emotions in her brain, guided by a star-studded cast: Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Fear (Bill Hader) and Anger (Lewis Black). In November of 2023, Pixar announced that a sequel, “Inside Out 2,” would premiere on June 14th, 2024. In the sequel trailer, a new emotion is introduced: the frazzled orange Anxiety. I can’t wait to see Riley navigate adolescence and all of the emotions that come along with it. The film is sure to be a smash hit that the whole family will love.
Inside Out Themed Attraction at Disneyland Resort
If you love Inside Out, did you know you can go on an emotional whirlwind ride at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California? That’s right. Disney’s California Adventure Theme Park has an Inside Out-themed theme park ride.
On this Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, park guests have the chance to step inside the center of Riley’s emotions. The emotions are Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger.The journey begins when guests hop aboard one of 8 Memory Movers, separately and uniquely colored to spur one of Riley’s Emotions or another spirited character from her imagination. The ride is slow-moving, slow-loading, and tons of fun. The ride opened in 2019 and is a delightful experience for the entire family.
If you’re traveling with little ones, don’t worry because there is no height requirement. We hope you enjoy the ride!
Disney’s Pixar Pier
The Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Ride is located along Disney’s Pixar Pier. Pixar Pier debuted in Disney’s California Adventure Park in the Summer of 2018.
