As the winter holidays approach, Walt Disney World is gearing up to celebrate in style. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has received a festive makeover, with new decorations such as a massive Christmas tree at the park entrance.
The Grand Christmas Tree at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The centerpiece of the holiday decor at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a towering Christmas tree situated right outside the park entrance. To ensure the safety of guests, a fence surrounds the tree. The tree is beautifully decorated with handmade-style ornaments, stars, and snowflakes.
Many of the decorations on the tree are inspired by nature and animals, blending seamlessly with more traditional holiday icons like ribbons and bulbs. Underneath the tree, visitors will find a collection of toys themed after beloved Disney characters, including those from Winnie the Pooh. There’s also a “snowglobe” featuring the mischievous Chip ‘n Dale, designed to resemble a tree stump.
DinoLand’s Winter Wonderland
Over at DinoLand, the dinosaur skeleton sports a jovial Santa hat and beard, adding a touch of holiday humor to the park. In addition, trees have been added to the meet-and-greet areas, creating a festive atmosphere for guests to interact with their favorite characters.
A large tinsel Snowman stands between the snack cart and Donald’s Dino-Bash, while Daisy’s meet-and-greet area is adorned with trees, wreaths, and garland. Chip ‘n Dale’s spot is also decked out for the season, and guests might even catch a glimpse of the whimsical Reindeer-osaurus.
Special Holiday Events At Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not just about decorations; it also hosts special events for the holiday season. Starting November 11th, the park will be home to a Santa sighting and the return of the beloved Merry Menagerie.
The Merry Menagerie is a unique roaming puppet show that has been a part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s holiday festivities in previous years. It is set to make its comeback for the 2023 season.
