DVC Shop Booking Guarantee
We’ve all recently learned that we don’t always know what we can expect in the future. When Disney closed its doors in the spring of 2020 we heard many stories from guests who had booked vacations from other rental companies and were not offered any options or travel credits when they had to cancel their trips.
This prompted us to create our Booking Guarantee to put our renters at ease when booking with DVC Shop Rentals. Our booking guarantee is as follows:
If you book your stay with DVC Shop now and the resort is not open at the time of check-in, we guarantee to give you full credit towards a future DVC Shop point reservation.
DVC Shop Cancellation Policy
Of course there are times when reservations need to be cancelled due to other circumstances. This is where it is important to understand the DVC Shop Cancellation Policy. Booking a DVC Reservation means renting points from a DVC Owner for your stay. Cancelling that reservation can cause the owner to lose out on their opportunity to re-rent their points, therefore we do not offer cancellations for any reason, other than situations that fall into our Booking Guarantee.
However, names on reservations may be modified for a fee. Therefore, if you absolutely cannot travel on your booked vacation, you have the opportunity to transfer your reservation to another party. Below, you’ll find our Name and Detail Change Policy.

Renters can request a name and detail change for a fee of $200 if done more than 15 days before check-in.
Travel Coverage Options
Now more than ever we recommend purchasing DVC Shop’s Travel Protection Plan or an Allianz Global Assistance plan along with your DVC Shop booking to provide you with peace of mind. If an issue should arise that causes you to delay, interrupt, or cancel your vacation, one of these plans may prove to be very beneficial. It is important to understand and consider both travel coverage options to ensure that you select the best plan for your needs.
DVC Shop’s Travel Protection Plan
Our internal travel protection option is great for simple, no fuss trip protection. It can be booked directly with your DVC Shop Rental agent and any questions, cancellations or changes are handled directly in house.
The DVC Shop Travel Protection Plan is as follows:
Cancel 60 days or more prior to check-in Reimburse – $15 per point Cash Refund or $16 per point full credit towards another stay within 18 months of original check-in date Cancel 45 days or more prior to original check-in $12 per point Cash refund or $13 Credit per point full credit towards another stay within 18 months of original check-in date Cancel 32 days or more prior to original check-in $8 per point Cash refund or $10 Credit per point full credit towards another stay within 18 months of original check-in date Cancel 15 days or more prior to original check-in $3 per point Cash refund or $5 Credit per point full credit towards another stay within 18 months of original check-in date Cancel 3 days or more prior to original check-in $3 Credit per point full credit towards another stay within 18 months of original check-in date *DVC Shop’s Travel Protection Plan is not an insurance plan. If you’re looking for a more extensive insurance option to protect your DVC booking and other portions of your Disney vacation (flights, car rental, etc.), we’ve partnered with Allianz Global Assistance for customizable travel insurance options. Allianz Global is a full service travel insurance provider that offers a wide range of coverage options. Information about their services and insurance options can be found on the Allianz Global website. Our DVC Shop Rental team recommends purchasing the Classic with Cancel for Any Reason plan, however Allianz offers many other insurance options to suit your needs. Keep in mind that the Classic with Cancel for Any Reason must be purchased on the same day that you pay for your completed booking.
