Disney’s Blizzard Beach Closed From December 23rd To 27th

Update: 12/24/22

Now Disney has stated that instead of its previous return date of 12/26/22, Blizzard Beach will now reopen on 12/28/22 due to continued cold weather conditions.

If you’re a central Florida local, you already know a cold snap is heading to the Orlando area that will see temperatures as low as 47 degree fahrenheit on Christmas day. This cold weather for the area will also bring with it the closure of Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, starting on December 23rd and lasting to at least December 25th.

It’s common practice for Disney to shutter its water parks when temperatures dip below 70 degrees, with this last happening back on the 15th through 17th of this month. Forecasts currently show temperatures below 70 degrees until the 28th of December, so many are speculating Blizzard Beach may stay closed even longer than what has been announced at the moment.

While the only constant in Florida’s weather patterns being it’s undeniable inconsistency, it seems those of you looking to check out the recent Frozen-themed additions to Blizzard Beach may have to postpone those plans.

Do you have a trip planned for Christmas time that will be affected by this closure? Are you a snow bird that laughs in the face of our balmy 47 degree forecast? Let us know in the comments below!
