A major development has just occurred, Walt Disney World has paused the majority of Annual Pass sales at this time. Currently only one of the four Annual Pass types are available for purchase, but the good news is that this will have no affect on Annual Pass renewals.
Upon the return of Annual Pass sales in August 30, 2021, Walt Disney World offered four different types of passes. The only one that is available for purchase at this time is the “Disney Pixie Dust Pass”. The Pixie Dust Pass can be purchased for $399 plus tax, however it is only available to Florida residents and has the most restrictive number of blockout dates.
Those who are looking to renew their Annual Passes have no need to worry. Renewals will not be affected by this pause. Annual Passholders are still able to renew expiring passes within 30 days of their expiration date. Renewals can still be done for any of the four Annual Pass options at this time.
Although this may come as a surprise to some, it was included in the announcement of Annual Pass returns in August that “some annual pass types may be unavailable for purchase at any time.” The same thing also happened for sales of select Magic Key passes for Disneyland Resort. Whether this is a one time thing or will become A regular occurrence is not clear at this time.
Although no date has been released as to when new Annual Pass sales will return, it is expected to make a comeback after the holiday season in 2022.
