We joined in March 2010 on a Disney Cruise! What I love best about DVC is the flexibility. We bring family, friends and celebrated my daughter’s high school graduation by bringing her high school friends. We bought an annual pass last year with the DVC discount to celebrate Retirement. BEST Decision Ever! We will buy another one later this year.
We have been to Aulani twice, BLT (home resort) three times, OKW once with a split stay at Grand Floridian. Two stays in the treehouses and a three bedroom at Saratoga Springs. We were lucky enough to book a few nights in the Concierge one bedroom in Kidani as well as a stay in both Jambo house and my 18 year old was able to use the facilities without us. Many hotels and timeshares require 21 and over. We also visited Vero Beach during Spring Break a few years ago.
My favorite resort, so far is Bay Lake Tower! We like to walk to Magic Kingdom, view the fireworks from our balcony while the TV broadcasts the events happening at Magic Kingdom castle. We have been to the Top of the World lounge several times and eaten dinner at California Grill during the fireworks celebration. We used DVC discounts to rent watercraft and enjoyed time out on the lake and love the pools. When the kids were younger we enjoyed Character Breakfasts at the Contemporary.
We love the idea of Riviera and hope to stay there soon and ride the gondola’s. We want to stay at Boardwalk so that we can walk into Epcot! We also want to stay at Copper Creek in the next few years. I have used the waitlist system and hope another one comes thru for me for January for Riviera. We also have California on our radar!
We recently joined D23 and are looking forward to Disney+ streaming! We have rented cars and used Magical Express. I laughed recently when it was referred to as the Tragical Express as it takes people back to the airport at the end of vacations. I watched the news hoping for the best as Dorian made its way up the coast.
When the kids graduate from College, it is our plan to buy more points and someday enjoying taking grandkids to Disney and utilizing our DVC. Now that we are both retired, we have used the platinum annual pass and enjoyed free golf on the Oaks course. We really enjoyed the photopass options that come with the pass also.
I love the Tee shirts created for this giveaway! You’re not DVC? Poor unfortunate soul. When I retired, I got several Disney related gifts from my coworkers and the picture I am including is my retirement cake. This summer I painted my hanging baskets in Disney theme and have gotten a lot of compliments. We will be utilizing DVC in January with our daughter and sending her back to school from Orlando.
