Disney News: Disney Enhances My Disney Experience Mobile Dining Options

Anyone who has been to Disney World in the past several years knows how essential the My Disney Experience Mobile App is for navigating the parks. The app is an all-in-one solution for park maps, FastPass, mobile ordering, and more. On Monday, Disney announced new enhancements to the mobile dining options and services available through the app.

Here are the recent dining options and services added to the My Disney Experience App:

Mobile Ordering for Table-Service Restaurants

This is a big addition to the app as in the past only quick-service dining options were available for mobile orders. Disney has now added the option to place take-out orders at Animal Kingdom Villas Sanaa through the app. More table-service restaurants are expected to be added soon.

Being able to order from table-service restaurants at the resorts is going to be a great option for families staying at Disney Resorts. Guests will now be able to enjoy delicious meals in the comfort of their own rooms or out on their patios. This is especially convenient during the coronavirus as it makes social distancing while dining even easier.

Mobile Check-In and Waitlist for Table-Service Restaurants

Guests now have the ability to check-in for dining reservations at the select dining locations. They can also view current seating availability and wait times as well as add themselves to a waitlist.

This very useful addition to the app will make it much easier for guests to visit table-service restaurants without having made reservations before their trip. For guests like me who prefer to “wing it” when it comes to in-park dining, this addition was long-awaited. Now, we can easily browse restaurants and add ourselves to a restaurant waitlist while waiting in line for a ride or if we’re way on the other side of the park.

More Quick-Service Dining Options Added

It seems that Disney understands how beneficial mobile ordering has been during the age of the coronavirus. Making it much easier to keep guests socially distanced, mobile ordering has become an essential service for guests in the Disney Parks and at the Disney Resorts.

Now, there are even more quick-service dining locations available for mobile ordering. *There are now 45 restaurants around the Walt Disney World Resort that offer mobile ordering. The following were recently added to the list and we can likely expect even more to come.

  • The Market at Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • P & J’s Southern Takeout at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
  • BoardWalk Bakery
  • Pizza Window at Disney’s BoardWalk

*Note that some locations are temporarily unavailable due to COVID-19.

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app today to make managing your Disney Vacation even easier and take advantage of the recent mobile dining options enhancement added in the latest release.

  1. I really wish that Disney would allow Disney Gift Cards to be downloaded as an option to pay for your mobile order. That is the only reason that I do not mobile order.

    1. Yes, that would be great! They did mention plans to expand the app so hopefully that gets added in soon. We’ll be sure to keep our readers posted on any other app updates that come out.
