The wait is finally over! Disney is releasing the Decades 50s Collection on May 15th. Disney’s The Decades collections have been systematically celebrating each decade of the Walt Disney Company’s existence, starting with Steamboat Willie merchandise from the 1920’s. Currently, the 1940’s are being celebrated, but Disney just announced that the newest collection is ready to be unveiled soon.
This new collection celebrates the decade of 1950s, which featured classic films like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan. The collection includes timeless designs celebrating some of our favorite Disney characters from the 1950’s. This amazing collection, with its modern flair and vintage allure, is sure to make a statement. Let’s take a look at a few of the items Disney has shared ahead of the collection’s launch.
Holographic Cinderella Loungefly
The first item that was revealed is a holographic Loungefly mini backpack featuring a Cinderella theme. Depending on the angle the bag is being viewed from, the front panel displays various stages of Cinderella’s transformation.
The Shaggy Dog Plush Toy
The next item is a plush toy of Chiffon, featured in Walt Disney’s first ever live-action-comedy film “The Shaggy Dog.”, which comes wearing a letterman sweater and a fedora.
“Hold That Pose” Goofy and Humphrey Bear Pin
The last item that was shared by Disney is called the “Hold That Pose” Goofy and Humphrey Bear Pin. This pin makes reference to a popular cartoon short of the same name from back in the 50’s. This pin extends to reveal a photo of Humphrey Bear taken by Goofy from behind his vintage camera.
