When Disney closed operations in March of 2020, many were affected, especially those that were in Disney’s College Program that has yet to reopen. Luckily, things are getting back to normal and it has just been announced that the Disney College Program will come back in June of this year.
The program will be inviting participants who were not able to complete their 2020 program back. Those who had to leave early due to the closure are being asked to reapply so that they can return. Disney states that they will be communicating directly with those participants about the upcoming opportunity about any changes to the program.
Some of these changes are in regard to health and safety matters, as Disney has implemented new protocols, similar to the theme parks. Some of these changes include:
- updates that promote physical distancing
- required face coverings in all common areas
- contactless, curbside move-in experience
Other changes are very exciting, such as the new accommodations for this year’s participants. Participants will move into the Flamingo Crossings Village for the first time ever. This complex offers a resort feel with a convenient location off State Road 429.
Disney hopes that this is just the first of their many programs to return as more Cast Members are able to get back to work. Other Disney programs that could reopen next include:
- Disney Culinary Program
- Disney International Programs
- Disneyland Resort Programs
