Dining Reservation System Enhancements Unveiled For Disney World & Disneyland

How To Use The New Dining Reservation System On The Disney World Website

Disney recently announced an upgrade to its dining reservation system for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. The current update allows users to browse all available reservations for the full day, rather than selecting a range of time. Also, a new future update will streamline the process by allowing users to search dining reservations over multiple days without performing multiple searches, enhancing the reservation experience.

Present Update: View All Available Time Slots

The current update to the dining reservation system on DisneyWorld.com, Disneyland.com, as well as the My Disney Experience app and Disneyland app, focuses on making the process of booking meals more convenient for guests. It enables users to see all available time slots for a particular day without having to select a time range like breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This feature offers more flexibility, allowing guests to plan their meals according to their schedules, rather than being restricted by predefined meal times. The new system is expected to save guests significant time and effort, as they can now make all their dining reservations in one go.

The My Disney Experience app and Disneyland app, have been updated to enable guests who are seeking quick-service dining options to organize the restaurants list based on the proximity of mobile order locations, showing the closest dining locations first.

Future Update: Multi-Day Dining Reservation Searches

Building on the convenience offered by the current update, Disney has revealed plans to further enhance its dining reservation system for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. The future update is set to include a feature that allows guests to search for dining reservations over multiple days.

This feature will be particularly beneficial for guests planning longer stays at the park. Instead of having to search for dining reservations day by day, guests will be able to plan their meals for their entire stay in one go, saving them significant time and effort.

The multi-day dining reservation search will be integrated into the existing platforms, including DisneyWorld.com, Disneyland.com, My Disney Experience app, and Disneyland app.

How the Multi-Day Search Works

The multi-day dining reservation search is a user-friendly feature integrated into the existing My Disney Experience app. Guests can select their preferred dates, meal times, and dining experiences, and the system will display all available options for the date ranges of their vacation.

To use this feature, guests will need to log into a Disney account with a current reservation linked and navigate to the dining reservation section of the website or app. After selecting their desired dates and meal times, the system will generate a list of all available dining options that fit the criteria.

This feature will not be limited to restaurants but also includes other dining experiences such as dinner shows and character dining.

The Impact on Disney Park Visitors

The introduction of the multi-day dining reservation search is expected to significantly improve the planning process for guests. It eliminates the need for guests to check availability day by day, making it easier to plan meals for their entire stay.

Moreover, this feature gives guests a better overview of their dining options, helping them make more informed decisions about where and when to eat during their stay.

Tips for Reserving Your Disney Dining Experience

  • Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can now make reservations 60 days prior to arrival for their entire length of stay (up to a 10-night stay).
  • Be sure to link your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort hotel confirmation to your Disney account to take advantage of this 60-day benefit.
  • Disney’s updated its policy to allow changes or cancellations up to two hours before your scheduled reservation at most Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort locations.
  • Be sure to check for dining availability early and often. Due to the cancellation policy, many great reservations can be found just 2 hours prior to your meal time.

Looking Forward: Anticipating Future Enhancements

Disney World’s move to enhance its dining reservation system is a clear indication of the company’s commitment to improving guest experience. This new feature is expected to be a game-changer for guests planning a multi-day visit to the park.

While no specific date has been released for the release of the Multi-Day search feature, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on any new developments on the DVC Shop blog.
