Disney PhotoPass has rolled out a set of new Moana-themed Magic Shots at Walt Disney World, and they will only be around for a limited time. These photo effects add characters and objects from the film to your pictures after they are taken, giving you a fun surprise when the finished image shows up in your account. Here is a look at the three new Magic Shots, where to find them, and how long you have to snap them.

Heart of Te Fiti
The first new Magic Shot features the glowing Heart of Te Fiti, which appears in your photo after it is taken. It is a fitting nod to one of the most recognizable objects from the film.
You can find this effect in two spots. Head to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT, or look for it near Discovery River at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, in the area between Africa and Asia.

Kakamora
If the coconut-clad Kakamora are more your style, you will have several chances to pose with the tiny pirates. This Magic Shot is available in more locations than the others, so it is the easiest of the three to track down.
Look for it on the bridge that leads from Cinderella Castle into Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, and near Creations Shop at EPCOT. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can find it in two spots around Discovery Island. It is also available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, giving you an option outside the parks.

Moana’s Oar
The third new Magic Shot lets you pose with Moana’s oar, the iconic paddle she uses throughout her voyage. It is a simple but recognizable prop for fans of the film.
You will find this photo opportunity at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Discovery Island. Look just off to the right side of the Tree of Life to line up your shot.
What Magic Shots Are
Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots are special photos where a PhotoPass photographer captures your pose, and Disney adds a themed effect to the image afterward. You will not see the added element while posing, so part of the fun is watching it appear later in the My Disney Experience app.
The best part is that they do not take much extra time. You simply find a photographer at the right location, follow their directions, and check your photos later to see which surprise was added.
How Long You Have
These Magic Shots are available through July 31. After that, they will be retired, so you will want to plan your park days accordingly if you hope to collect all three.
Since the effects are spread across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and the Polynesian Village Resort, mapping out where you will be can help you catch as many as possible before the deadline.
Conclusion
If Moana is a favorite in your household, these limited-time Magic Shots are a fun reason to stop for a few extra photos during your visit. Between the Heart of Te Fiti, the Kakamora, and Moana’s oar, there are options across several locations at Walt Disney World. Just remember that they sail away after July 31, so seek them out before then.
