During my last visit to Disney World I had the privilege of visiting Disney’s Beach Club Resort. We enjoyed strolling through the beautiful resort grounds and admiring boardwalk from afar. During our visit we made a last-minute decision to get on Cape May Cafe’s walkup list. We arrived at the Beach Club Resort at around 6pm and after joining the list on the Disney World app we were seated at a table within 15 minutes. Cape May Cafe is a restaurant that has been on our list to try for a while. During breakfast hours, this restaurant is a character buffet experience with Minnie and Daisy and friends. During dinner, Cape May Cafe is a delicious seafood buffet experience with no characters. This is our review of Cape May Cafe during dinner and the experience that we had there!
The Dining Area
Upon entering Cape May Cafe we were greeted by kind Cast Members and hosts. We were taken back to our table immediately and shown the buffet offerings and given a rundown of the restaurant. The restaurant interior was charmingly decorated to be like a vintage beachside cottage. Paintings of beach-y scenes lined the walls, and the color palette of blues and pinks perfectly complimented the Beach Club Resort.

The Dinner
The food at Cape May Cafe was excellent, and we definitely left the restaurant feeling like we got our money’s worth! The buffet had a thorough salad bar with various cold foods and appetizers including shrimp, Caesar salad, garden salad, olives, cheese, and crackers. My favorite food that I tried here was the Seafood Pasta Salad. This cold pasta salad was covered in mayo and seafood seasonings with shrimp, crab, scallops, and lemon juice. This section of the buffet also had rolls with salted garlic butter.

Nearby the cold bar was the fresh Clam Chowder. This was the thing I was most looking forward to during my visit here and it didn’t disappoint. The Clam Chowder was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor.
The cold food options were amazing but the hot food was the true star of the show. Cape May Cafe had a full seafood boil with clams, mussels, shrimp, corn, and red potatoes. Fried seafood like planks of fish and shrimp were available as well. For those who aren’t huge on seafood, a carving station with coffee-rubbed beef and pork was fresh and ready for guests to enjoy. Also on the buffet was Paella, seasonal veggies, mashed potatoes, salmon with a sweet glaze, and classic favorites for kids like pizza and chicken tenders.

There were several options for dessert and we had to try them all. Cape May Cafe was famous for their Bon Bons which haven’t changed since the restaurant first opened. This was probably my favorite dessert that I tried. Also on the menu were brownies, a Boston Creme Pie cupcake, an orange tarte, cookies, and a cherry mini Bundt cake.

Overall
We greatly enjoyed our dinner at Cape May Cafe and we would definitely recommend it to others and go again. The food was hot and fresh, and the Cast Members were attentive and kind. We loved that we were able to get in as walk-ins. The restaurant didn’t seem super busy so this is a great option for guests who need a last-minute reservation that will satisfy their taste buds!
