Disney World transportation makes it possible to get around without a car, but sometimes it’s nice to skip transportation altogether! Staying at a DVC resort within walking distance of a theme park means you don’t have to wait for a bus, boat, monorail, or Skyliner when you’re ready to start your day. It can also make getting back to your room much easier after a long night in the parks. If being able to walk to the parks is a priority for your next trip, these DVC resorts should be at the top of your list!
Disney’s Beach Club Villas
Disney’s Beach Club Villas has one of the best locations for guests who love EPCOT. The International Gateway entrance is just a short walk from the resort, so you can leave your villa and be inside World Showcase in no time. Hollywood Studios is also accessible by foot using the walking path around the EPCOT resort area. Having two parks within walking distance gives you plenty of flexibility, especially if you like heading back to your resort for a midday break before returning to the parks later.

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas is another great choice if EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are a big part of your vacation plans. Guests can walk around Crescent Lake to EPCOT’s International Gateway or follow the path along the water to Hollywood Studios. This can be especially convenient at the end of the night when transportation lines are busy and you would rather start heading back to your villa. You can still use the Friendship Boats when your feet need a break, but having the option to walk is a huge perk.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
For guests who plan on spending plenty of time at Magic Kingdom, it’s hard to beat Bay Lake Tower. A dedicated walking path connects the Contemporary Resort area with Magic Kingdom, allowing you to get to the park without using any transportation. The walk can be particularly useful in the morning when you’re trying to arrive early or after the fireworks when large crowds are leaving at once. Instead of joining a transportation line, you can simply start making your way back to your resort.

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa gives guests another option for walking to Magic Kingdom. A pedestrian pathway connects the resort area with the park, which means you aren’t limited to using the monorail or boat. The walk is longer than the one from Bay Lake Tower, but having another way to travel can still be useful during a busy Disney day. You can even choose to walk one direction and use Disney transportation for the other depending on how everyone is feeling.

Disney’s Riviera Resort
While Disney’s Riviera Resort isn’t within walking distance of a theme park, it can still be worth considering for guests who want to limit how much time they spend on buses. The Disney Skyliner provides transportation to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, making it easy to reach two parks without using a bus. You won’t be able to walk directly to either park, but the convenient Skyliner access offers some of the same flexibility that makes the EPCOT resort area so appealing.
