Best DVC Resort Pools For Taking a Break From The Parks

Vero Beach Pool

Almost year round, Walt Disney World is HOT! You can try and beat the heat by taking a Dole Whip break or seeing an indoor show, but those only last so long. Sometimes, you need to unwind for the day and take a nice break from the parks. If you overdo it, you’ll find yourself exhausted and overwhelmed, which is the opposite of how you should feel on vacation. Luckily, the Walt Disney World Resort is home to a vast amount of hotels with incredibly refreshing pool areas and none are more top notch than the DVC pools! Whether you need a quick dip or a full on pool day, here are the best ones to unwind by!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

This is the resort pool I grew up going to. I have countless amazing memories here playing games by the poolside playing games with the recreation team Cast Members and downing plenty of non-alcholic Piña Coladas! Polynesian is home to two pools, the Lava Pool and the Oasis Pool. The Lava Pool, is more family oriented, with a water slide, games, music, and a hot tub! There’s also a kiddie splash pad area for younger kids! Just on the horizon of Seven Seas Lagoon, you can see Cinderella Castle peeking out. The Oasis Pool however is probably your best bet for some quiet, unwinding time, as this pool area is more of a serene environment. Polynesian overall is the most relaxing place to spend time on property, in my humble opinion.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort

Listen, drinking around the world is pretty draining. For your energy levels, and your bank account. Thankfully, those staying at the Yacht & Beach Club can leave Epcot’s back entrance, the International Gateway, and take a short walk back to their hotel! Yacht & Beach Club is home to the extremely popular, Stormalong Bay. Some Walt Disney World Guests book their stays at Yacht & Beach Club just for this pool. It is a massive, half pool half lazy river, with a sand bottom! It is worth noting this pool will be closed until May 2025, but the good news is it’ll be in it’s best shape the next time you visit!

Disney’s Riviera Resort

This is Walt Disney World’s newest DVC Resort. Inspired by the magic of Europe, the Riviera Resort is a gorgeous hotel that sits next to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. If you’re staying here, and need a break from either of those parks, both are connected to this resort via Disney Skyliner! A quick and easy (and breezy!) way to get back to your hotel so you can start relaxing as soon as possible! Or, if you’ve spent your day at the pool, and you want to pop into a park for dinner or a few rides before close, the Skyliner makes that easy! Riviera takes up a small footprint, but still has space for two pools. The Riviera Pool is your typical Disney Resort pool with slide, music, and at nighttime, a movie! The Beau Soleil Pool is just a couple feet away, a quiet rectangle pool accompanied by a hot tub! Whatever mood you might be in, Riviera has the pool for you!

Not much has changed! During his free time you can find him either at Hollywood Studios or trying to convince his friends to go on another trip to Disneyland.
