Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Reopening In Epcot

A fan favorite character dining experience is returning very soon! Akershus Royal Banquet Hall will be reopening in Epcot on November 4th!

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a Princess Storybook Dining location that has been closed since the COVID-19 shut down. It will be opening its doors again, with reservations opening up on October 24th.

Previously, guests were able to enjoy meet and greets during their character dining experience with the following princesses:

  • Ariel
  • Belle
  • Jasmine
  • Snow White
  • Aurora
  • Mulan
  • Cinderella
  • Rapunzel
  • Mary Poppins

Not all of the princesses were there all of the time. There typically was 4 to 5 princesses making the rounds depending on the time of day you go. Disney has not released any information at this time on whether the princess line up will stay the same or if it will be altered, or whether or not princesses would be returning upon opening at all. Cinderella’s Royal Table is still a modified princess dining experience, so it would not be unlike Disney to bring Akershus back as modified before princesses make their return.

More news will most likely open up in the next couple of weeks, but we’d still recommend trying to grab a reservation when they open up next week either way.

This dining experience also consists of a family-style meal that features some traditional Norwegian dishes. Two of the best dishes at Akershus are Traditional KjØttkaker featuring Norwegian meatballs and the Kylling og Melboller, a Norwegian take on chicken and dumplings. For those who have picky eaters there is no need to worry, Akershus also offers American food as well.

Have you dined at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion before? Who is your favorite Disney princess? Are you excited for Akershus to reopen on November 4th? Let us know in the comments below!
