Disney has announced exciting new updates for the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, set to debut on May 22nd, 2026, at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This update will feature additional locations, expanded gameplay, and a refreshed storyline incorporating beloved characters from The Mandalorian. These enhancements aim to provide a more interactive and customizable experience for guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
New Locations Introduced
The 2026 updates will introduce multiple locations for guests to choose from, expanding the adventure beyond Batuu. Previously confirmed destinations include Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. Disney has now added the bustling city-planet of Coruscant as the fourth destination.
Tatooine
Venture to the iconic desert planet, known for its vast sand dunes, hidden cantinas, and ties to legendary characters.
Bespin
Visit the floating city of Cloud City, surrounded by vibrant skies and offering a glimpse into the galaxy’s industrial underworld.
Endor
Explore the forest moon and the remnants of the second Death Star, providing a mix of lush landscapes and historical intrigue.
Coruscant
Experience the bustling urban sprawl of the galaxy’s political center, featuring towering structures and lively cityscapes.
These options provide guests with more variety and replay-ability, making each visit to Smugglers Run a distinctive experience.
Enhancements to Gameplay
A key update in the new version of Smugglers Run is the increased level of player control. For the first time, guests will determine their flight destination. This choice introduces a layer of strategic decision-making and enhances group collaboration.
The Engineer role is also receiving significant attention in this update. Engineers will gain more responsibilities during missions, including direct interaction with Grogu as part of the gameplay. This change is designed to elevate the Engineer position, which has often been seen as less engaging compared to other roles in the cockpit.
A Brand-New Storyline

The updated storyline will deviate from The Mandalorian series while retaining its spirit. Guests will join Hondo Ohnaka in tracking down a deal between pirates and ex-Imperial officers on Tatooine, with Mando and Grogu playing key roles in the mission. Players will pilot the Millennium Falcon to explore galaxy-spanning locales, collect bounties, and assist Hondo in his pursuit of credits.
Fine-Tuning the Experience
The integration of fan-favorite characters, new story content, and new locales exemplifies Disney’s ongoing efforts to elevate guest experiences. These updates also highlight the company’s commitment to keeping Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions relevant and engaging for regular visitors. Enhancements to the Engineer role and player-driven destinations underline the importance of guest feedback in shaping these changes.
A Brand New Adventure
With new locations, an interactive storyline, and expanded roles for players, the 2026 update to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run promises to bring new excitement to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. These enhancements cater to both first-time visitors and returning fans, offering unique opportunities to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe.
