Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has announced that the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort have sold out for the second time, being just twenty months after sales reopened for an additional development phase. In 2022, over two hundred hotel rooms in the Big Pine Key building were transformed into a new room type, the Resort Studios, leading to a new wave of sales nearly a decade after the resort’s initial offering.
Sales performance was varied, with an initial surge of buyers followed by a six-month period where Grand Floridian trailed behind Disney’s Riviera Resorts in total sales.
Current DVC Offers
The sell-out coincided with the expiration of current DVC promotional offers. With the Grand Floridian now fully sold out, DVC continues to actively sell at three other resorts: Riviera Resort, Aulani, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
Future Developments
Looking ahead, DVC is currently building a new tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and has plans to transform the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground into a new DVC resort. Both projects are slated to start sales sometime in 2024 and open later in the year.
Resale Market Options For Grand Floridian
Even though the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort are officially sold out, prospective buyers can still explore the resale market as an alternative way to purchase a DVC contract at Grand Floridian. This option often offers contracts at a significantly lower price compared to buying directly from Disney.
The resale market is a vibrant space where existing DVC members resell their points. The prices are typically influenced by supply and demand dynamics, and buyers can often find excellent deals.
