Disney’s popular Soarin’ attraction is set for a temporary return to its original form at EPCOT. The announcement was made during the “EPCOT: Always in a State of Becoming” panel at Destination D23, as part of the Disney100 celebrations.
On September 22, 2023, Soarin’ Around the World will revert back to Soarin’ Over California, which was the original version of the ride that initially debuted at Disney California Adventure in 2001 and later arrived at EPCOT in 2005. Soarin’ Over California was replaced with Soarin’ Around the World in 2016 at both parks. While the original version has made temporary comebacks at Disney California Adventure before, this is the first time it will be returning to EPCOT.
The change is temporary and is part of the festivities designed to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary. No specific end date has been revealed yet, but Disney fans are encouraged to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity while it lasts. The Soarin’ Over California experience may not be available again for some time after the revival of this version of the attraction concludes.
