Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition is back in EPCOT for the Holiday season! This adorable scavenger hunt is inspired by Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, a short film featuring Olaf and Sven searching through Arendelle to find holiday traditions for Anna and Elsa. Now the whole family can join in on the search for some of the traditional holiday items that Olaf has found.
Some of these Olaf statues can be a little difficult to find, especially if you are hoping to find them quickly to move along to other attractions in the park. No need to worry, we have each Olaf location for you right here!
How To Play
In order to enjoy the scavenger hunt guests will first need to purchase a map. The maps can be purchased at various locations and cost $9.99 plus tax. You can apply discounts to the map purchase to get a couple of dollars off the cost though!
Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Map – Front
The objective of Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition is that guests will have to search in 13 different areas around the World Showcase in order to find the 13 Olafs and what traditional holiday item he has with him. Once you find the statue, you simply place the holiday items’ sticker on the corresponding location of the map. The stickers are located on the back of the map, along with some fun facts about each of the items in the scavenger hunt.

It is worth noting that you do not have to complete your map at all in order to get your prize, but where’s the fun in that? Also, you do not need to complete the map in one day, you can come back another time if you wish to take your search slow.
Olaf Locations
If you need help finding any of the Olafs, we’ve compiled each of their locations below. Simply click the sections below to expand and get directions and photos to help you locate the Olaf. Be warned, spoilers ahead!
You can find Olaf on the building across from where you would enter for the Donald Duck meet and greet. He is situated right up on the balcony, peeking from behind a wreath.
Olaf is posed in Mexico with Poinsettias
This Olaf statue has poinsettias. According to the map facts, “Festive poinsettias are presented in striking arrangements to celebrate the holidays.”
To find this next Olaf, you’ll want to look in the first courtyard of the Norway Pavilion, the one closest to Mexico. Here Olaf is high up on the moss covered rooftop of the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe seating area.

In Norway Olaf is posed with a goat shaped straw decoration. According to the map, “Goats, made of straw, guard Christmas trees as the holidays draw nearer.”
China Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition China Pavilion
The China Pavilion can sometimes be a tricky place to find the scavenger hunt statues since there are so many nooks and crannies that they can hide. This time around we spotted Olaf behind some bushes off of the water, across from the restaurants.

Olaf is riding his sleigh with some floating lanterns. According to the map, “Floating Lanterns fill the night skies, marking the beginning of the New Year.”
Germany Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition Germany Pavilion
Olaf is not hiding up high this time around, but instead he is hiding inside. He can be spotted happy as can be in window of the Der Teddybär Toy Shop.

Olaf is bringing some candy canes back to Arendelle from Germany. According to the map “The first-ever candy canes are said to have been given as gifts from a choirmaster.”
Italy Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition Italy Pavilion
For this one you will want to look for Olaf at the very end of the Italy Pavilion, almost leading into the American Adventure Pavilion. He is hanging out on the top of the Gelateria Toscana building.
Olaf excited about the Panettone
Olaf is getting ready to munch on a holiday cake called panettone. According to the map, “Many bakers prepare a zesty fruitcake called panettone as a delectable holiday treat.”
America Gardens Theater

There are two locations in the American Pavilion for Olaf, the first being near the America Gardens Theater. You will want to look across from the theater, on the top of the Fife & Drum Tavern.

Here Olaf is holding a sheet of carols. According to the map, “Children of all ages ring in the most joyous time of the year by singing cherished carols.”
The American Adventure

The second Olaf statue in this area will be just like any perfect present would be, under a stunning Christmas tree! Do you see him hiding at the bottom?
Olaf hiding with a Kinara
Olaf is standing in front of a Kinara under the tree. According to the map, “The seven days of Kwanzaa are celebrated with seven candles to symbolize struggle, hope, and the people of Africa.”
Japan Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition Japan Pavilion
To find Olaf in the Japan Pavilion you will want to head into the main area of the pavilion, towards Teppan Edo. Towards the end of the pavilion there will be an archway, and to the right of that you will see a fenced off garden area. He is hanging out in there!
Olaf with Kagami Mochi
In the Japan Pavilion Olaf is sitting happily on his sleigh with some Kagami Mochi. According to the map, “Many families decorate for the New Year with festive kagami mochi made from rice.”
Morocco Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition Morocco Pavilion
Olaf can be seen enjoying the idea of Summer and sun and all things hot in the middle of these gorgeous flowers. This patch of flowers and Olaf is outside of the Tangierine Cafe on the right hand side.
Olaf with Olives
A traditional choice for Morocco, Olaf is bringing back a bunch of olive branches. According to the map, “December is the time to give thanks for the harvest with a lively olive festival.”
L'Chaim Holiday Kitchen
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen
This one is pretty easy to find. The location on the map is L’Chaim Holiday Kitchen, which means Olaf is right on top of the booth.
Olaf with Dreidels
Olaf is bringing home some Jewish traditions this holiday season as well, with dreidels on the back of the sleigh. According to the map, “Many families celebrate Hanukkah by playing with four-sided spinning tops, called dreidels.”
France Pavilion

No need to go too deep into the France Pavilion to locate Olaf. He got a little turned around in the maze of the bushes. This area is located to the right of the fountain in France.

Olaf is bringing in a yule log for our fire from the France Pavilion this holiday season! According to the map, “In winter, many families place yule logs on the hearth to bring good luck, as they cozy around the fireplace.”
United Kingdom Pavilion

The United Kingdom Pavilion brought one heck of a statement piece out this holiday season, and Olaf is hiding in it! The giant teapot pouring tea is located across from where Alice does her meet in greet. Do you see Olaf peaking out above the flowers?

Olaf is celebrating this holiday season with a holiday cracker! According to the map, “Around many dinner tables, holiday crackers ‘explode’ to reveal festive surprises.”
Canada Pavilion
Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition Canada Pavilion
Olaf is located by the water in the gardens of the Canada Pavilion. He is enjoying the fantastic view! To find him and the garden head through the archway entrance on the right hand side of the maple popcorn booth. Follow the path and you’ll spot him quickly.
Olaf with Gingerbread
This is definitely the furthest away Olaf statue of the bunch. He has some adorable gingerbread people with him. According to the map, “Young and old delight in baking and decorating sugary gingerbread cookies.”
Prize Redemption
Congratulations, you have found all of the Olafs and all of his holiday traditions in EPCOT! Now that you have completed Olaf Holiday Tradition Expedition, you will want to head into one of the redemption locations to pick up your prices. Not every store in the park has the prizes, but you will be able to spot which ones do from the following signs at the entrances.

Here you will get to choose one of the adorable prizes. This year they are Frozen themed coin purses! They are so soft, have a keychain, and have three different options to choose from.
