A rare occurrence in Hollywood Studios happened this last weekend, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance allowed guests into the Standby Line for the first time ever!
Surprisingly, Rise of the Resistance boarding groups were still available up until 7:00 PM, which is when the virtual queue system ends. This is unusual, since boarding groups are typically full within a matter of seconds. Due to the fact that there were still boarding groups available so late in the day, Hollywood Studios decided to allow any guests in the park to enter the standby line at this time.
Various guests reported that there was almost no wait for this attraction by the end of the evening. For whatever reason, this surprising increase in boarding group availability holds true in both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park. Guests have been able to join the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland Park quite late in the day this last week as well.
Whatever the reason may be for the increase in boarding group available, it is certainly incredible news for Star Wars fans. Who knows, maybe the ability to join the standby line later in the day will become a more common occurrence in the park.
