Update: 7/29/2021
After a 16 month long closure, the Epcot Monorail is set to resume service on Sunday, July 18th, 2021! The Epcot Monorail closed in March of 2020 with the rest of the theme parks’ operations. When Walt Disney World reopened, some forms of transportation returned, but the Epcot Monorail was not one of them.
Guests are excited to be able to Park Hop using the Monorail once again, especially with the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival beginning on July 15th. This will be the perfect way for guests to Park Hop to Epcot in the afternoon for some delicious food, after spending the morning in another one of Disney’s theme parks.
Service with the EPCOT Monorail will begin one hour before the park opens and will run until one hour after the park closes. Disney reminds guests that when on the Monorail, everyone will be required to wear their face coverings, as is the current standards for all Disney transportation services.
Due to the upcoming reopening of the Epcot Monorail, direct bus service to Epcot from resorts will be ending. These are the dates for each resort that will be ending its direct bus service.
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – July 25
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort – July 24
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – mid August
It is worth noting, that although Disney’s Contemporary Resort will end bus service on July 24, it will still be offered to guests July 26-29 due to refurbishment at the resort.
