One of the best parts of any Disney vacation is undeniably the food! Mickey ice cream bars, Mickey pretzels, Mickey ice cream sandwiches… all food tastes better when it is shaped like our favorite little mouse. Sometimes though, especially on those longer vacations, nothing tastes better (pun intended) than the comforts of home. Enter: grocery delivery! With apps like Doordash, Walmart+, and Instacart, having groceries delivered to your DVC resort is easier than ever.
So, here is why you should use a grocery delivery service during your next DVC Stay!
Save Money
While we all love food that is shaped like our favorite critter, we cannot deny that the Mouse is expensive. No matter what size DVC resort you typically book, having groceries in the room is an undeniable cost savings. While my husband and I have only ever booked studios, we love to order simple breakfast items like bananas, yogurt, sausages, and poptarts for breakfast. We keep “snackin’ cheese” in the fridge for a mid-day protein boost, and a variety of snacks for after a late night in the parks (or maybe at Martha’s Vineyard).
However, if you book a one bedroom or larger, your options triple! From frozen pizza or lasagna to a home cooked Thanksgiving meal, your choices are endless. While many may balk at cooking on vacation, our stomachs don’t always love us after a week in Disney.
Stay Hydrated
I strongly believe that this deserves its own separate category. As anyone who has ever stepped onto Disney property knows, the tap water is… less than tasty. While you can buy packs of water at DVC resort gift shops, the amount is close to double what you would pay for a grocery order. A grocery delivery allows you to pay typical retail store fees with a nominal delivery fee (sometimes!) and tip. With those hot summer days coming, you need to stock up on water!
Not a fan of single use plastic? (Me either.) Grab a few multi-gallon jugs: trust me, they even fit in the studio fridges.
Enjoy the Comforts of Home
Using a grocery delivery service doesn’t just save you money… it ultimately saves you time, which, on a Disney vacation, is worth more than money. Don’t want to check a bag but want to have your favorite haircare products? Include them in your delivery order! Do you need a certain brand of lotion in order to relax at the end of a long, sunny day? Delivery order! Does your skin turn red the second you enter that sweet Floridian sunshine? Delivery order!
When you’re on vacation at your favorite place with your favorite people, you deserve to have whatever will bring you the most joy… and grocery delivery will help you with that, at a fraction of the cost!
