Congrats! You’re part of the DVC 300+ Point Club. A special group of owners who have an annual allotment of 300 DVC points or more. As a member of this group you must either love spending many days at the Disney Resort each year or you truly love luxury travel. Either way, as a 300 DVC point owner, when it comes to DVC vacations the world is your oyster.
What Can I Do With 300 DVC Points?
The simple answer, pretty much anything. With 300 points to use each year you can stay at the Disney Resort several times a year, book weeklong vacations in large suites, or travel during Premier season to any DVC location. For example, a trip to the Grand Floridian during Christmas in a Lake View Studio would only cost 271 points. After all, the reason you own a large point package is to travel where you want and when you want. Or, you can take a trip to WDW for a marathon in February, a relaxing summer vacation, and a trip to the parks to enjoy the holiday festivities without ever being concerned about running out of points.
What If I Can’t Use All My Points This Year?
This is a great question. Maybe one year you’re slammed at work and can only scrounge up enough time off to take one or two trips to the Disney Resort. This problem shouldn’t worry you in the least because there are a multitude of options for your points and you may even end up making some extra money to use on staycations.
Option 1: Bank Your Points
Of course, you can always bank your points into your next Use Year if you can’t use them up fast enough. Banking points into next year means that you can have an even more epic vacation once your schedule lightens up a bit.
Option 2: Rent Your Points
Thousands of Disney enthusiasts who haven’t made the commitment to purchase a DVC contract are interested in traveling to Disney and staying at a DVC Resort. So instead of stressing about using your points, why not rent your unused points to a family who is longing to travel to Disney? Renting points is an easy process that can be facilitated by a reputable rental agency like DVC Shop Rentals. Our rental agents will simply match you up with a family looking to book a DVC resort vacation and Voila! Just like that you’ve made a few extra hundred (or thousand) dollars. There’s no doubt about it, owning 300 or more DVC points provides you with amazing advantages and opportunities. There is very little you cannot do with your points, especially when you use them wisely. But hey, you own 300 points, you don’t really need to use them “wisely” because there are always more points next year.
