Summer House On The Lake Bakery or Gideons: Which Has The Best Cookies?

The Disney Springs cookie war is on! If you have visited (or are getting ready to visit) Disney Springs at Disney World, then you have probably heard of Summer House On The Lake and Gideon’s Bakehouse. One thing is sure: both locations serve amazing cookies. However, the question is, which cookies are the best?

Summer House On The Lake

Summer House On The Lake opened earlier this year and has been a huge hit ever since. The restaurant has a beautiful California-style vibe, delectable food, and views overlooking the lake. Its dishes, like the Caramelized Brussel Sprouts and Salmon Poké Nachos, are truly amazing; my personal favorite part of the restaurant, however, is the Cookie Bar.

What’s Currently Available?

At the time of this writing, the cookies available at the Summer House Cookie Bar are as follows:

• Apple Oatmeal

All the listed offerings are $4.95, except for the Krispy Chocolate Chip, which is priced at $5.45. Of all the cookie offerings, my favorite was the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip. The mixed salt and chocolate chips are the perfect sweet and salty combination.  Trust me. You MUST try it. You will not regret it.

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Gideon’s Bakehouse opened in 2021 and has remained a success. With cookies weighing half a pound, what is not to love? There are numerous cookies to choose from on the Gideons Bakehouse, and there are also exclusive flavors depending on the season. My go-to and personal favorite is the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie. It is a Vanilla Bean Cookie mixed with Bananas, a mix of Dark Chocolate, Walnuts, and crumbled Banana Chips. If you like banana bread, this is the cookie for you.

Each cookie at Gideon’s Bakehouse is priced at $6.00, but they are so large that they can easily be shared with another person.

What Cookies Are Available At Gideon’s Bakehouse?

At the time of this writing, the cookies available at Gideon’s Bakehouse are as follows:

• The Original Chocolate Chip Cookie
• The Peanut Butter Crunch Cookie
• The Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip
• The Cookies & Cream Cookie
• The Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie
• The Banana Bread Cookie

All of the listed offerings are $6.00 each, except for the Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookie. That cookie is $6.50, since it is limited edition. If you like peanut butter, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookie is the cookie for you.

While the Banana Bread Cookie is my personal favorite, the reality is that all of the cookies are delicious. You are in for a treat, no matter which cookie you decide on.

My Final Verdict?

While both Gideon’s Bakehouse and Summer House On The Lake are solid cookie locations, in my opinion, Summer House On The Lake is the winner because the cookies are less expensive. In my opinion, they are just as good there, too.
