Staying on-property can be one of the most memorable additions to your next trip to Disney World, but we all know it can be expensive if you don’t know where to look! Luckily, Disney has just announced some new Florida residents discounts for reservations at select Disney World Resort Hotels during the first quarter of 2023. In this article, we will cover exactly what the new discounts are, what dates and resorts are eligible, and we’ll be comparing these discounts to other methods of booking at Disney resorts to see just how well these new discounts stack up.
As a bonus, we’ll also be exploring how you can save money on booking at Disney resorts whether or not you are a Florida resident. Let’s get started!
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Florida Residents Discounts
We’ve added a chart below to show you exactly which resorts and dates are eligible for each level of discount. As you will see from the chart below, there are some limitations to the days of the week that can be discounted in the months of January and February. Only Sunday through Thursday qualify for this discount in those months, and not every Sunday through Thursday is included.
Once you get into March and April, there seems to be less restrictions regarding the eligible days of the week, but not all dates are included in the promotion.

Just How Good Are These Promotional Discounts?
As soon as we saw this new promotion, we knew we had to compare this deal with some other alternatives to see just how good this discount really is.
Booking Directly With Disney
First, we had to establish a baseline by searching for a reservation at one of our favorite Disney resorts, Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Kidani Village on the Disney World website. We were able to find a 1 night reservation on February 21st, 2023 in a Studio that features the absolutely awesome savanna view. That one night normally costs $686.00 per night, and with the discount it comes down to $546.40 before nightly taxes and fees are added.
Purchasing A Confirmed Reservation
At DVC Shop, we work with Disney Vacation Club members who wish to rent out DVC points, as well as confirmed reservations at DVC resorts, that the member will not be able to use. This means that anyone can gain access to Disney’s Deluxe resorts for much less than booking directly with Disney, all without having to be a DVC member!
Currently, there is a confirmed reservation that is posted on our rental division’s website for the exact same date, resort, room type, and view, that is listed for just $342.00! Also, it’s important to note that when you’re renting from a DVC member, you can enjoy many of the great benefits that they enjoy, such as free overnight parking at the resort, and no pesky nightly resort fees.
When you add it altogether, with just this one night, you’re saving over $200.00, skipping out on parking fees, and you’re able to book it easily and securely online without the requirement of being a Florida resident. Imagine the savings for a full week!
Requesting A Custom Reservation
What if none of the dates that you find on our confirmed reservations page fits your desired travel dates? You can also make custom reservations with DVC Shop for a discounted price when compared to booking directly through Disney. Keep in mind, the baseline reservation when booking directly from Disney was in the top 20% Florida resident discount tier, and met all the stringent criteria that Disney requires for you to get the discount, such as the day of the week we had to book, being a Florida resident, and we had to poke around on their website to find dates that were available to book. The $200 per night savings you saw above by buying the confirmed reservation is on the smaller side of discount when compared to other resorts that are in the lower discount tiers in this new promotion.
