Why Quarterly Meetings Are Important
A change in Florida condominium law in 2024 required associations, including many Disney Vacation Club resorts, to hold meetings quarterly instead of annually. These meetings provide a platform for updates, discussions, and decisions about the operations and policies of DVC resorts. Owners can learn about resort finances, refurbishment plans, and other critical topics.
New Options for Notification Preferences
To enhance functionality, DVC has introduced a feature on its member website that allows owners to select their preferred method of receiving meeting notifications. Owners can now choose between email or traditional U.S. mail for their quarterly condo meeting notices. These settings can be found under the “My DVC” section of the member website.
Upon navigating to the “Meeting Notices and Resort Information” section, owners can find an option to select electronic notifications for future meetings. After clicking on the link, you’ll see two key areas to configure preferences:
- Annual Dues Statements & Privacy Notices
- Condominium Association Meeting Notices
Both categories allow users to toggle between paper mailings or email communications, based on individual preferences.
RSVPs and Attendance at Meetings
An important aspect of participating in DVC condominium association meetings is registering your attendance in advance. RSVPs are required, and meetings are open to DVC owners with points at the respective resort. These gatherings provide an excellent opportunity to stay involved in decisions that could affect your membership and resort ownership.
Looking Ahead
Currently, dates for the second quarter of 2025 meetings have not been posted. During the December 2024 meeting, DVC executives mentioned that meetings may not follow a rigid schedule but will instead depend on the availability of facilities and staff.
