Disneyland has put a pause on new sales for its “Inspire” Magic Keys, Disneyland Resort’s version of annual passes. Currently all Magic Key passes are “Available for Renewal Only”, as shown on the Disneyland website.
The Magic Key program has been a significant part of the Disneyland experience for many visitors, offering benefits like savings on dining and merchandise, PhotoPass downloads, and complimentary parking. With the current pause in new sales, it’s clear that the demand for these passes is high.
Sales of the Magic Key passes, which were launched as an alternative to the traditional annual pass, have been placed on pause before, originally in May of 2022. However, it seems that the demand has surpassed Disney’s ability to continue selling them at this time.

While this may be a setback for those planning to purchase a new pass, existing Magic Key holders need not worry. All tiers of the Magic Key passes remain available for renewal.
Earlier this year, Disney had announced that they would be returning with only one tier of Magic Keys remaining, which stirred a buzz among the Disney community. Now, with the suspension of new sales, the future of Magic Key passes remains uncertain.
Despite the current suspension, there is hope for those still wishing to purchase these passes. Back in April, Disneyland had resumed sales of its Magic Key annual passes after a similar pause. Hence, it is possible that new sales might become available once again in the future.
As we wait for further updates from Disneyland, one thing is certain: the Magic Key annual passes have managed to create a magic of their own.
