New LYNX Service Connects Disney Springs with Orlando Airport

Disney Springs

In a significant development for visitors to Walt Disney World, the LYNX public transportation system has initiated a new shuttle route directly linking Disney Springs to Orlando International Airport (MCO). This new service, designated as Link 311, aims to provide a seamless and cost-effective transit option for travelers, enhancing the accessibility of the entertainment complex from the airport.

LYNX Route From MCO to Disney Springs

Link 311 comes as a replacement for the previous Link 111, extending its service from Terminal A at MCO to Disney Springs. The route strategically includes stops at key locations such as the Sand Lake Road SunRail Station, Florida Mall Superstop, Universal Boulevard, International Drive, and Destination Parkway Superstop.

Priced at only $2 for a one-way trip, the service operates from 5 AM to 11 PM daily, ensuring convenience for both early birds and night owls. With buses running every 30 minutes, the route promises a reliable option for those looking to visit Disney Springs without the hassle of car rentals or taxi services.

Funding and Community Impact

The initiation of Link 311 was supported by a $3.5 million investment from Orange County taxpayers through the Accelerated Transportation Safety Program. This investment underscores the commitment of local authorities to improving transportation infrastructure and promoting tourism in the area.

Future Developments

The introduction of Link 311 aligns with Walt Disney World’s openness to exploring further transportation advancements, including the possibility of a SunRail train station at Disney Springs. Although a previous proposal by Brightline for a station was canceled in 2022, ongoing discussions and developments could pave the way for even more accessible transportation options in the future.

Conclusion

The new Link 311 shuttle service marks a pivotal step toward integrating Orlando International Airport with the magic of Disney Springs, offering both convenience and affordability. This initiative not only enriches the visitor experience but also exemplifies the collaborative efforts between public transportation authorities and the entertainment industry in central Florida. As the region continues to evolve, such transportation enhancements are likely to play a crucial role in sustaining the growth of its tourism sector.
