After a temporary suspension due to the dramatic fire that burned Disneyland’s Malificent Dragon during a performance of “Fantasmic!” last month, the fire-breathing effect has been reinstated on the Maleficent dragon float for the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom.
Why Was The Fire Effect Suspended?
Quickly after the fire that took place in Disneyland, officials released a statement that Disney would be suspending this fire effect throughout their different theme parks around the world, including Walt Disney World in central Florida.
We are temporarily suspending fire effects similar to those used at Disneyland park’s Fantasmic at select shows and entertainment experiences globally out of an abundance of caution following the Fantasmic prop fire at Disneyland park. The continued safety of our cast and guests is of the utmost importance.
