As of Wednesday, January 26th, Disney Genie+ has added character sightings to Lightning Lane selections in both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This addition will apply to just a few of the available character sightings at first, potentially with more being added later on.
Guests can now choose a Lightning Lane return time for the following character meet and greets:
- Cinderella and a Visiting Princess at Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom Park
- Princess Tiana and a Visiting Princess at Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom Park
- Mickey at Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom Park
- Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
These character sightings are usually open to guests at 9:00AM to 4:00PM in Magic Kingdom and 10:00AM to 5:00 PM in Hollywood Studios, but those times are subject to change so be sure to check the morning of your park day.
The wait times vary but the mornings are typically the shortest wait of the day. In the middle of the day guests can expect to wait sometimes up to 45 minutes to snap a photo of one of these popular characters. With the ability to book a Lightning Lane return time, guests will be able to pop in to meet the above characters much quicker and move on to other attractions.
For those that do not wish to purchase Disney Genie+, the standby queue will still be open to guests for the character meet and greets.
