Journey Into Imagination With Figment, a beloved attraction at EPCOT, will be temporarily closed on October 10, 2023, for routine maintenance.
Refurbishment Dates
The announcement was made assuring that the closure would only last for a day. The ride is set to reopen on October 11, ready to welcome guests back to experience the magic of imagination.
Other Pavilion Offerings Remain Open
Despite the brief closure of the main attraction, all other areas and offerings of the Imagination! Pavilion will continue to operate as usual on October 10. These include the new Figment meet and greet, a Joy meet and greet, the gift shop selling Figment merchandise, and a new ID tag machine.
Additional Features of Imagination! Pavilion
The Magic Eye Theater, which screens the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, and the Mickey and Minnie meet and greet are also part of the Imagination! Pavilion. Visitors can still enjoy these experiences during the maintenance period.
A Look Back At The Attraction’s History
Journey Into Imagination With Figment opened its doors in 1983, a few months following the unveiling of EPCOT Center. The ride, which showcases the beauty, power, and fascination of imagination, quickly gained popularity among guests. It introduced the characters Dreamfinder and Figment, who turned into semi-official mascots of the park. There have been three versions of this attraction over the years.
