Ride Overview
Journey Into Imagination With Figment opened in 2002, replacing the ride Journey Into Imagination. The changes to this ride in 2002 made Figment a much more prominent part of the attraction, which has been a popular decision for guests. It is a tour themed ride in omni-mover cars that takes guests on a silly adventure through the mind, senses, and imagination.
The ride first appears to be simple tour of Dr. Nigel Channing’s Imagination Institute. As guests are set to be taken around to the five different labs (sound, sight, smell, touch, and taste), Figment appears and interrupts the tour with multiple high jinks.
Inside of the Sound Lab, Figments interrupts and brings along a loud train sound signaling the “train of thought”.
In the Sight Lab, Figment takes over the eye chart. Here we are introduced to Figment’s song “One Little Spark” which was written by the Sherman Brothers.
Figment takes over the Smell Lab as well, changing into a skunk and sprays a foul smell onto the guests. Don’t be too worried though, the smell sprayed is not skunk, but rather burnt coffee.
Guests will never make it into the Touch and Taste Labs, as Figment takes full control of the tour and guests enter Figments own open house, turning everything upside down, literally. The ride ends with Dr. Channing and Figment duetting “One Little Spark” as guests finish the tour.
This ride is a fun choice for guests of all ages with an engaging storyline and easy ride with no major drops. In addition to a fun time, this ride is also educational. It introduces children to the five senses and encourages them to think outside of the box.

This attraction is located in Epcot, in the Imagination Pavilion. This pavilion is located inside in Future World, which has been renamed World Celebration.
Wait times for this ride are typically low and is the perfect choice for any time of day.
Queue Experience
The queue for Journey Into Imagination With Figment is an enchanting experience that is fun for all ages. As guests make their way through to the ride, they will see doors to offices of famous scientists and even portraits of some of the greats.
A large desk with paperwork and phone in the front of the “Imagination Institute” as well as science equipment locked away along the queue also adds immersive touches.
The little touches of the queue create an engaging experience, sure to make the time pass quickly.
