For five decades, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has entertained audiences with its lively performances and hearty meals. Known for its engaging atmosphere, the show combines humor, music, and dance with a menu featuring favorites like fried chicken and BBQ smoked ribs. The interaction between performers and guests adds a unique charm, creating an immersive experience that delights visitors of all ages.

Behind the Scenes: Performer Stories

The performers at Hoop-Dee-Doo are integral to its charm and success. Cast members share fond memories of their time on stage, highlighting the spontaneity and audience engagement that make each show unique. Performers like Jamil reflect on their roles and the personal connections they have formed with audience members over the years, underscoring the show’s impact on both the guests and themselves.

One of my favorite parts of the show is Clementine. As soon as that song starts, everyone in the room—both on stage and in the audience—knows that anything can happen. The energy in those moments is electric because it’s all about reacting to each other, both as performers and with the audience.

Beyond the show, the dedicated food and beverage team plays a vital role in creating memorable evenings for guests. Long-time servers like Gloria and Mark describe the familial bonds formed with both colleagues and returning guests. Their dedication ensures that each dining experience is as satisfying as the entertainment, contributing to the Revue’s lasting appeal.

The Music and Magic

Randy, a seasoned pianist at the Revue, brings another layer of magic to the experience. With a tenure dating back to Walt Disney World’s opening day, Randy’s music has been a constant presence, supporting the dynamic energy of the show. His reflections on the evolving nature of the performance underscore the importance of music in connecting with audiences.

The interaction with the guests is what makes Hoop-Dee-Doo unique. No two shows are exactly the same because you never know how the audience will react.
