Walt Disney World has recently disclosed the location of the Hatbox Ghost in the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom. The ghost is set to materialize in the attraction later this year. According to reports, guests will soon see temporary barriers set up in preparation for his arrival
Later this year at the Walt Disney World Resort, one of our most iconic specters will set up residence in the Haunted Mansion of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom Park. The Hatbox Ghost will appear to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway, welcoming himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at the Doom Buggies as they set off deeper into the mansion. Guests will soon see temporary barriers materialize as we await his apparition.
DisneyUnlike its placement in the Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion where the Hatbox Ghost appears at the end of the attic scene, it will be located earlier in the ride at Magic Kingdom, specifically by the Endless Hallway, a spot known for the sight of a floating candelabra.
In this new setting, the Hatbox Ghost will be the first specter guests encounter on the ride. Interestingly, the ghost will appear before the narration that announces happy haunts are “beginning to materialize.” It is speculated that the temporary barriers will go up during the ride’s August closure, but the ghost may not be installed in time for the start of the Halloween season.
