The highly anticipated Hatbox Ghost is set to make its first appearance at the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom in late November, according to an announcement made at Destination D23 on Saturday morning.
Despite speculation, Disney has confirmed that the Hatbox Ghost will not be the 1,000th Happy Haunt, keeping the count at 999. The character was referred to as an “unhappy haunt,” citing its brief prior presence in the Haunted Mansion.
The placement of the Hatbox Ghost within the Magic Kingdom version of the Haunted Mansion sparked questions among fans. However, the company addressed this by stating that the ghost has the ability to appear and disappear at his own will.
