Disney officially confirms that the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will reopen in Disneyland! This fan favorite ride has been closed since Disneyland closed its doors due to COVID-19 last year, but now it is set to make a comeback this winter, and guests cannot wait!
Guests have been patiently waiting for any updates, and although an official date has not been released, Disney did state that the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage would be reopening in winter of 2021.
When Disneyland reopened on April 20, 2021, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage did not open along with it. There was some speculation that the attraction may be closing for good, but since this has been one of Disneyland’s most popular attractions, that seemed unlikely. Some thought that the closure would be temporary, since being enclosed in a submarine makes it difficult for guests to maintain social distancing. However, now that the CDC guidelines have been updated, the ride is considered safe for reopening.
Another possibility was that the ride was getting an update before reopening. This seems to be a likely scenario, since there are currently construction walls near the attraction, with signage stating the reopening date. However, the attraction is not listed as “Closed for Refurbishment” on the Disneyland website.
Regardless of the reason for the extensive closure, we are all thrilled to have a soft reopening date for this beloved attraction.
