Disneyland has announced that its celebrated nighttime spectacular, ‘Fantasmic!’ will be paused until at least May 28th of this year. The popular show, which features amazing fountains, stunning pyrotechnics, and classic Disney characters, has been on hiatus since there was a recent fire that saw the Maleficent dragon be engulfed in flames during a live show.
Performances of “Fantasmic!” are now paused until at least May 28. Leaders will be contacting affected Cast Members.
As the investigation continues into the April 22 incident, fire effects similar to those in “Fantasmic!” are temporarily suspended out of an abundance of caution.

While no official return date has been set, the postponement is expected to be temporary, with hopes of the show returning as soon as possible.
Since its debut in 1992, ‘Fantasmic!’ has held a special place in the hearts of Disneyland lovers. The show, which takes place on the Rivers of America, features a collection of classic Disney characters and includes appearances by Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, and many other beloved figures. The show’s last update was in 2017, when updates were noted in the staging, lighting, and special effects.
