Disney Vacation Club, is set to unveil the newest addition to their resort portfolio – The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. This eagerly anticipated resort will officially open its doors on September 28, 2023.

In a unique move to mark the occasion, Disney Vacation Club has decided to live stream the grand opening ceremonies. The event will take place at 10:30 AM Pacific and 1:30 PM Eastern time, allowing members and fans globally to share in the excitement and magic of this momentous event.
About The Villas At Disneyland Hotel
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is an impressive addition to the Disney Vacation Club family, boasting over 300 villas. These include a range of options to cater to different needs and preferences, from Duo Studio and Deluxe Studio to One, Two, and Three Bedroom Villas.
This new resort’s design draws heavily from the rich heritage of Disney Legends, celebrating both creativity and storytelling – hallmarks of the Disney brand. Each element of the resort has been thoughtfully designed to immerse guests in the magical world of Disney.
Ownership Details
Ownership at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel starts at $230 per point, and the ownership period extends to 2074. While these initial offerings may entice many prospective buyers, there are a few items to keep in mind if you were looking into purchasing at this new resort.
Transient Occupancy Tax
It has been confirmed that for the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) will be charged on a per-point basis, and it’s estimated that stays in the 2023 calendar year would incur an additional charge of approximately $2.73 per point that is used to make the reservation.

Resale Restrictions
The Public Offering Statement for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel also clarifies that owners of DVC points resold for any of the unrestricted DVC resorts won’t be eligible to utilize their DVC points to reserve accommodations at any restricted resort, which currently encompasses both the Riviera Resort and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
- If you own resale points at the Riviera Resort, you can only use those points to book stays at the Riviera Resort.
- Similarly, if you own resale points at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, they can exclusively be used for bookings at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
- Finally, if you own resale points at any of the remaining DVC resorts, you’re not able to use these points to make reservations at either the Riviera Resort or The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
It is unclear at this point what effect these resale restrictions will have for owners who purchase at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel that wish to resale their contract later on. Historically, these restrictions have meant that owners of Riviera Resort are not able to sell their contract as easily or for as much as contracts at other DVC resorts.
Comparing To Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa
Some DVC members had been hopeful that the Villas at Disneyland Hotel would represent a cheaper alternative to Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa, but when analyzing and comparing the points charts between these two resorts, that assumption may not be as accurate as many had hoped.
