Disney Vacation Club members who have grown accustomed to quarterly condo association meetings will see a change in the schedule starting this fall. Meetings for Florida-based DVC resorts are reverting to an annual format, a shift from the quarterly meetings that began in late 2024. This change is tied to new legislation in Florida and will impact how members receive updates and interact with their resort associations. Here’s what you need to know about the change and its implications.

What Are DVC Condo Association Meetings?

2023 Disney Vacation Club Condo Association Meeting

Condo association meetings are an essential part of the Disney Vacation Club experience. These gatherings provide members with updates on resort operations, refurbishment timelines, and financial matters. They also serve as the platform for officially approving proposed budgets for the upcoming year. For many members, these meetings are a valuable opportunity to stay informed and voice concerns about their home resorts.

Why Are Meetings Moving to an Annual Schedule?

The shift from quarterly to annual meetings is a result of new legislation passed in Florida in July 2025. The updated requirements for managing condo associations, including those of DVC resorts, have prompted this change. While the legislation aims to streamline operations, it also means fewer opportunities for members to engage with their resort associations throughout the year.

Which Resorts Are Affected?

This change applies to all Florida-based DVC resorts, with the exception of the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. The affected resorts include:

DVC resorts outside of Florida, as well as the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, will continue to hold annual meetings as they have in the past.

When Is the Next Condo Association Meeting?

According to the DVC website, annual board and member meetings are typically scheduled between October and December. However, specific dates for the next round of meetings have not yet been announced. Members are encouraged to stay tuned to DVC Shop blog for updates, we’ll be sure to post the dates as soon as they become available.

Member Communication and Concerns

While the shift to annual meetings may streamline operations, it raises questions about how effectively members can stay informed and voice their concerns. The DVC website notes that members can still communicate with resort association boards through Member Services or by submitting emails and requests via the Member website. However, quarterly meetings provided more frequent opportunities for members to ask questions and receive updates tailored to their specific resorts.

One of the key benefits of the previous format was the ability to address resort-specific concerns. These meetings allowed members to engage directly with their home resort’s association, fostering a sense of community and transparency. Many members hope that even with the shift to an annual schedule, individual resort meetings will continue to provide tailored updates and opportunities for open dialogue.

Wrapping Up

The return to annual condo association meetings marks a significant change for Florida-based DVC resorts. While the new schedule aligns with updated Florida legislation, it also reduces the frequency of direct communication between members and resort associations. As members await further details about the format and scheduling of these meetings, the hope remains that individual resort updates and opportunities for member engagement will continue to be prioritized.
