Do I Need to Contact Disney Before I Sell My DVC?

There are plenty of reasons you may want to sell your Disney Vacation Club contract. Whatever your motivation is, DVC Shop is here to help. The process can appear intimidating, but DVC Shop breaks down the basics and supports you through the journey.

Do I Contact Disney to Sell My DVC?

Since your Disney Vacation Club contract feels like it belongs to Disney, you may be wondering how involved Disney Vacation Development, Inc., needs to be in selling your contract. Ultimately, Disney will be involved throughout the process, but there are some initial steps that must be completed before Disney is engaged. You do not need to contact Disney prior to selling your Disney Vacation Club contract.

Work with a Licensed Real Estate Broker

In principle you could sell your contact on your own, but this is a legal real estate transaction. Much like buying a condominium or house, you probably want to work with an expert in the field to make sure all the details are taken care of and you receive a fair price. DVC Shop’s real estate broker, Bee Thaxton, has over 40 years of experience, over 10 years selling DVC, and has been an owner for over 16+ years. Plus, as an avid Disney fan, she knows the ins and outs of Disney Vacation Club that a typical broker dealing with general timeshares simply will not grasp. Working with Bee at DVC Shop ensures your listing will be marketed to the full extent possible—not only on the DVC Shop website, but also on other brokerage and marketing sites.

Understand Commission and Fees

Reputable brokers charge commission, fees, or both. Sellers working with DVC Shop are responsible to pay a commission for the sale of the listing, and the seller pays the estoppel fee. DVC Shop does not charge an additional processing fee like many other brokers. Additionally, no upfront fees are charged by DVC Shop during the resale process. DVC Shop receives the commission after the sale of your contract is fully complete.

Find a Buyer

When you work with DVC Shop, Bee and the team will work diligently to get your listing in front of as many potential buyers as possible. The DVC Shop team has a strong online presence, and understands the need for digital marketing to close your sale as fast as possible.

After a buyer is identified, you review the offer. If you are happy with the terms, then you accept the offer and DVC Shop will usher you through executing a contract to begin the closing process. This is the point where Disney Vacation Club gets involved, as DVC will review the fully executed contract for sale.
