Over the summer my family and I were able to experience the character breakfast at Disney ‘s Vero Beach Resort. Wind & Waves Grill is open for breakfast daily, but on Saturday mornings they host a special character breakfast. This breakfast is at a fixed price of $35 per adult and $22 per child and features a beverage, pastry boat for the table, and an entree. The characters who visit you during this meal are Goofy and Pluto, and the beachy vibe is unmatched. We greatly enjoyed our character breakfast experience at Wind & Waves Grill and loved the food.
The Food
Once you are welcomed into the restaurant you are given a pastry boat for the table and are able to order a drink. We got coffee, and the children got chocolate milk. They had juice available, as well as cocktails for an extra charge. The pastries in the boat consisted of biscuits, chocolate chip muffins, croissants, blueberry muffins, and coffee cake muffins. There were plenty for us, but we did run short on biscuits. We asked for more and they brought us several!

The kids were able to pick from a variety of entrees including Scrambled Eggs, Mickey Waffles, and French Toast Sticks. Both of our children chose French Toast Sticks with fruit.

The adult entree options included Eggs Benedict, Bananas Foster French Toast, Blueberry Pancakes, and more. One of us ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and another the Blueberry Pancakes. Both entrees were delicious. The Eggs Benedict had the perfect amount of Hollandaise sauce and was cooked to savory perfection. The Blueberry Pancakes were covered in blueberry compote.

The Characters
The characters that visited us during this experience were Goofy and Pluto. Goofy was dressed in a beach-y outfit while Pluto was his usual self. We had great interactions with the characters and were given a postcard with their signatures on it. Because the restaurant was smaller we were actually visited by each character twice. At some point during the meal, the characters stopped to have a dance break.

Overall Experience
Overall, this experience was wonderful for our family. Our children, ages 4 and 5, enjoyed themselves. This character breakfast is definitely done on a smaller scale than other character meals within the parks. But the laid-back vibe was great for our beach vacation. We made our reservation around 30 days in advance and we were lucky to have grabbed the very last one for that day. Our reservation wasn’t until 11:30am, so it was more of a brunch experience for us. We didn’t mind the late start, and we enjoyed that we basically had the dining area to ourselves for the latter half of the meal. We didn’t feel rushed whatsoever. We would definitely book a character breakfast here again if we find ourselves staying at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort during a Saturday.
