Disney’s First Polynesian Island Tower Villas Declared into Condo Association

Island Tower Deluxe Studio

Disney Vacation Club continues to expand its offerings with the recent addition of the first units in the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows to its condo association. This strategic move aims to broaden the availability and appeal of DVC properties, providing members with more diverse accommodation options.

Declaration of Island Tower Rooms

On July 31, 2024, Disney officially filed the 6th amendment to the Polynesian condo association with the Orange County Comptroller. This filing included the declaration of the first 40 rooms in the Island Tower. These rooms are situated in Residential Units 88A through 88F, spanning floors 1, 2, 3, 7, and 9. Notably, the 9th floor houses the Two Bedroom Penthouse villas that Disney previously announced.

Breakdown of Available Units

The newly declared units offer a variety of room types to cater to different preferences and needs:

  • 9 Duo Studios
  • 14 Dedicated Studios
  • 4 Dedicated One-Bedrooms
  • 10 Lockout Two-Bedrooms
  • 1 Dedicated Two-Bedroom
  • 2 Two-Bedroom Deluxe units

At launch, DVC members will have exclusive access to book these 40 villas using points. The allocation ensures that no more than 40 rooms are available for member reservations on any given Use Day. Additional rooms within the Island Tower will initially remain in Disney’s inventory for cash bookings and will be gradually added to the DVC inventory as sales progress.

Member Access and Future Prospects

With the incorporation of the Island Tower into the existing Polynesian condo association, current owners of points in the longhouses and bungalows gain equal access to these new accommodations. The tower’s total capacity includes 222 villas and 268 keys, which will incrementally become available as point sales advance.

Additionally, the architectural design features large openings known as pocket gardens. These outdoor viewing platforms will be accessible to guests and may become popular spots for watching the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks, particularly for those staying on the monorail-facing side of the resort.

Launch and Sales Information

The Island Tower is slated to open on December 17th, 2024. While cash reservations are currently being accepted, DVC point sales are expected to begin shortly. Following this, reservations will open up for both current DVC members and new buyers.

Conclusion

The addition of the Island Tower to the Disney Vacation Club’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows marks another chapter in DVC’s ongoing development. By offering a variety of new accommodation options and maintaining a phased approach to availability, DVC provides both flexibility and exclusivity to its members. As the opening date approaches, the excitement among Disney fans and DVC members alike continues to build.
